At seven, Daniel is left alone: his mother has gone to work in Greece, and his grandmother dies on an autumn night. He grows up in foster homes in Malaysia, Ireland and Utah, learning foreign languages and foreign prayers, and in each of them he whispers the same name. When he turns eighteen, the programme ends and he is alone again. And somewhere far away, a woman writes his name on her hand every morning.
A story about the people who help without being obliged to, the search that never stops, and the home that waits.
